MIDAS AUTO SERVICE EXPERTS PENRITH - PENRITH, NSW

Below is a list of problems that I have encountered since leaving my car at Midas 16/01/2015 I was requested by Midas to get the car to them as early as possible for a Sat Book which was on 17/1 I dropped the car at the store at 3.30 Fri afternoon to allow enough time I was called at 10.15 Sat Morn to say my car was ready I picked up my car at 1100 hrs and drove away I made it approx. 1km down the road before a bolt that was in the oxygen sensor area blew out this in turn turned the car into an assault on the senses. I rang Midas and was advised to limp the car back. This I did and it was found that the bolt had blown out so it was decided to weld the hole up After this was done I drove away and got about 200m and found that the car was labouring heavily and now blowing exhaust out through the join between the extractors and the center pipe. I drove back to MIDAS and made them aware and the car was put up on the hoist. It stayed there for approx. 10 mins then was taken off the hoist and brought out to me I was advised that my handbrake was jammed on. After both staff at Midas looked and could not find the problem I investigated and found that when the Extractors were welded someone had bent my oil dipstick out of the way and this jammed the handbrake cable. Lucky I have a great amount of mechanical knowledge and through trouble shooting could find it myself. Midas then advised me that he did not have the right fitting for the pipe so had filled it full of "goop" hoping that would fix it. Unfortunately this didn't and the exhaust blew out again approx. 2.5kms later. so I rang Midas and advised that this had happened Midas then arranged for me to drop my car back on Sat 24/1/2015 and would repair it with no need to reconfirm and they would call me if there were any issues I called Midas on Fri 23/1/2015 lunch time to confirm that this was still happening. I am glad I did or I would have made a trip for nothing Midas then advised me that they had not ordered the part and had forgotten to call me advising me that he had no bookings for the weekend so would be closing and will not be fixing my car on Sat morn 24/1 I find this unbelievable to tell a customer that as no bookings they would have to wait for repairs. I did try to book into Blacktown and Fairfield to get this fixed but funnily both these stores were fully booked. Now my issues are 1. Why is there now washers packing a bolt on the manifold when all bolts were in the right place?..........I had just had my motor recond the day before so was aware of the manifold due to the issue of a crack 2. Why was an old pipe used down the center of the car when I specifically asked for a NEW exhaust system 3. How long will the weld hold in the sensor area. I have lost trust in the quality of workmanship I am not happy that I had 1) bad workmanship and 2) store being closed because staff didn' t want to work and no bookings. My most important long weekend of the year and I have been let down What was I? didn't I have a booking ? So I believe that of instead of "gooping" an incorrect fitting join, a new center pipe with the correct fittings should have been in place like I asked. How many times does it take for an exhaust to be pulled apart before seal integrity is lost? as this now concerns me that all other fittings may be incorrect Definitely would recommend everyone to stay away from Midas Penrith
