This place is disgusting! I was passing by and asked for a 'treatment and blowdry'. A simple request one would think. Not here! I have thick, long wavy hair and in the Brisbane heat I regularly have blow dries that last up up a week. A treatment usually costs $12-18 and a blow dry from $35 (MHair Norman Park), $40 (Blow Dry Bar Brisbane City, & Emporium, Fortitude Valley; Oogie, Albert street Brisbane) - $60. I had the treatment and it was nice. I was passed to another stylist who asked what I wanted & told 'a straighten'. I immediately corrected her and said I wanted a blow dry with large waves. She said she had other ideas and would explain while she washed the treatment off. I repeatedly said I preferred a blow dry as my heavy hair drops' with just a straighten. She said she would pin the hair so it didn't drop. I replied that I liked a BLOW DRY especially along the hairline and ROOTS so I had 'movement and volume' & that I only straightened my hair the day after I washed it as I let my natural waves dry and then brushed them out. The stylist said she had problems hearing. Did a quick finger dry and then used a. straightening iron on my DAMP hair. I read magazines while holding back my tears as the the steam sizzled from my hair! I could just picture the damage that was being done! I was then placed under the dryer and the hair loosened. The roots were wavy and not straightened and the lengths had ridiculous old fashioned curls. My long hair bobbed around my shoulders and looked ridiculous. To add insult to injury, I was charged $120! $120! $20 for the Argan oil treatment and $100 because I had had a 'special' style. $120! I paid, said 'Wow! I should have checked.' I immediately got outside and started pulling out the ridiculous curls and put my hair on top of my head but the roots remained kinky and flat. By the time I got home the hair had dropped and looked a bit nicer albeit knotty from the stupid hair spray soaked pin curls. At 3am I got up and BLOW DRIED alongside hair line and roots.
